A night in Hotel Munchen Holiday Inn City Centre

Arriving at Munich, Germany after almost 7 hours of a road trip, it was snowing and freezing with a cold weather. Today I’m going to show you our beloved hotel that my partner chose for us, a one night stay in this 4-starย Hotel Munchen (Munich) called Holiday Inn in the city center.

Holiday Inn is one of our hotel choices since before already, we have tried different places of different hotels of this company. Almost all of their hotels have made a positive impact on our experiences which is really great to share with others.

Reception of the Hotel

This Hotel Munchen is 500 meters from the Deutsches Museum, and 22.9 kilometers to Oberpfaffenhofen Airport (OBF), 28.9 kilometers to Munich Franz Josef Strauss Airport (MUC).

In terms of public transportation, the hotel is 50 meters from Rosenheimer Platz City Rail Station, just 2 stops from Marienplatz. 580 meters from Isartor Station.

View to the Hotel’s Restaurant

One night wasn’t that much time to visit every corner of the hotel. However, I need to do my job to be more strict on inspecting and judging this 4-star hotel. The hotel was really easy to find we arrive at night but still, it was accessible.

We parked just beside the hotel and went inside for a check-in, the receptionist was kind and explain us everything that we need to know. She explained us all, gave us wi-fi code, the time for check in and check out, parking, and as well as the schedule for breakfast which wasn’t included in what we paid.

The Elevator Place

The Elevator Waiting Place

On our way to our designated room, the elevator waiting place was a bit modern I should say. Actually if you take the elevator you need to badge or pass your hotel card to a scanner to choose which level you’ll go.

Thus your hotel card is your key to use the elevator and to get access to your room as well. For me, it was a first time to experience this kind of technology (the elevator one) it’s a new discovery.

The Room

The Bed

the room

Getting inside our room, it was great to see the bed after a tiring day. The room looks really great, what I’ve expected for the same as the other rooms that we have had before in Lisbon or in Rome there wasn’t so much difference.

The room is 20 mยฒ/215 ftยฒ a non-smoking one, normally you can choose between 2 single beds or 1 double bed. It wasn’t that spacious but enough for us, we also have shower/bathtub.

decoration in the room

T.V. and Decorations

We also have a Television as you can see with satellite/cable channels, and you can also watch movies if you ask it at the reception. There was a closet, desk, safety box, Coffee/tea maker, and a fridge/mini bar.

The only thing that bothers me a bit was the wi-fi connection. since our room was like 50 meters on the other side of the building the wi-fi connection was a quite deception.

The Bathroom

The Bathroom

the bathroom

On our Bathroom it was perfect, everything needed to be was there. It was clean, organize, and just the way I like. We had enough towels and tissues (which is very important for us), other toiletries, Hair Dryer, and a shower/bathtub.

The Dining Area

Diner Area

There’s one thing that you must know, that the dining area and the restaurant/bar are different. For the dining area, it’s the place where you eat your breakfast (included or not included in your stay).

In our case it wasn’t so we went to the dining area. The waitress asked us if we like to charge the breakfast on our room or pay on the spot.

the dining

The Buffet

the food

charchuterie

The Buffet was a complete delight. All kinds of food that you’d love to eat in the morning are present in the dining area. There were kinds of herbs (dried and fresh ones), Jams, various kinds of hams and sausages, cereals, juices/drinks, and bread.

the juices

The best thing about this buffet is, they even serve a fresh honey or should I say Raw Honey. It was the first time I’ve ever seen in a hotel’s dining area in my life.

My Food

My Breakfast

My breakfast was pretty simple, some German sausages, bacon which I love to eat in winter, some German meatballs. I also chose scrambled eggs and coffee of course. Since last night we ate Asian food today it was more of German breakfast food.

The Restaurant/Bar

Bar Restaurant

As I’ve mentioned, Restaurant/Bar is different from the dining area. You will see it directly when you enter the hotel, just next to the reception area. There are tons of liquors displayed at the bar, and the moment we entered. I’ve seen so many people sitting on the couch and chairs with their laptops.

Bar Restaurant

At first, it was kinda bizarre to me, why do people/clients prefer to be in this area with their laptops and tablets? I mean this is like a bar where people drink alcohol.

In the end, I completely understand why, cause actually, the wi-fi wasn’t that good in the bedroom area. In french we say “dommage” it was a great Hotel Munchen but a bit slow wi-fi connection.

Overview

reception

Over all, I would say this is a perfect hotel, well, all hotel have their negative sides. This Hotel Munchen has every single facility that you need. They offer a luxurious stay and worth it for your money.

In terms of tariffs, the price is from 120 euros per night depending on the season. But I have a good news for you this Hotel has hot deals as well, 34% – 45% off a great deal for this year 2018.

Best Price on Holiday Inn

Best features of thisย Hotel Munchen are Wheelchair access, Facilities for disabled guests, and Sound proof rooms which is very interesting, besides hotel offers Wi-Fi in public areas and Pets allowed. The hotel also has a Concierge, Laundry service, Daily housekeeping and a Smoking area.

Other nearest interesting places from the hotel are, Firstly I would say the Vietnamese Restaurant that we went for our diner last night. Then there’s Fleming Pharmacy which is 520 meters away, Denn’s Biomarkt Store 2.8 kilometers, and lastly ATM a 2 minutes walk.

This hotel doesn’t look bad – looks very modernize which I like. I’m loving the buffet they have though! However, I’m always looking for hotels with GREAT wifi connection just in case I need to work. Thanks for sharing this place! Will look into it when I’m in Germany.

    • Alexine says:

Hey Savannah, actually as I’ve mention our room is in the highest floor and we were like super far from the reception, I think that was the problem why the wifi was slow but yeah if you have to work while in the hotel better stay at the bar/restaurant place.
