Tel Aviv, Israel

Tel Aviv, Israel

Tel Aviv is unlike any other city in the Middle East. It is liberal, vibrant, accepting, and full of diversity. What I love about Tel Aviv is that it is right on the beach, but also has a bustling metropolitan city life.

From the laid-back, cafรฉ-lined streets surrounding Tel Aviv Beach, to the hipster and artsy neighborhood of Floretin. There is something in Tel Aviv for everyone. The beaches in Tel Aviv are so lively and packed with people every day who are there to sunbathe, surf, have a drink or some food, or even smoke hookah right on the sand.

At night, the city comes alive with bars and clubs open late into the early morning hours so you can drink and dance the night away. Tel Aviv is also an amazing foodie destination with incredible gastronomy and several food halls such as the famous Sarona Market.

Some of the best humus in the world could be found in the old town of Jaffa at Abu Hassan; and for the best authentic falafel or shawarma, Hakosem is a must. There are also so many amazing international options as well, from sushi to French, Italian, and many fusion places to choose from too.

The people are warm, friendly, and energetic, and will treat you like family if you choose to get to know them. If you want to experience Middle Eastern culture in a city that is modern, open, and safe, Tel Aviv is definitely the place to go.

Tulum, Mexico

Tulum, Mexico

Tulum is my favorite city in Mexico. Part of the beautiful Yucatan Peninsula, the beaches in Tulum are some of the nicest in the world.ย With soft white powdery sand and warm crystal clear turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea.

There are amazing snorkeling and diving in Tulum and any other ocean activity you can dream of from surfing, to parasailing, to jet skiing and beyond. Tulum is also known for yoga and wellness and has an overall boho-chic, laid-back-beach-town vibe to it.

The people are relaxed and friendly, and there is beauty and culture all around. If you enjoy history, there are some amazing ancient ruins in Tulum. The most famous ancient Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza are nearby as well.

In and around Tulum are also many cenotes, or sinkholes where you can swim, cliff jump, rappel into, zip line, or just admire their overall beauty. Of course, you canโ€™t forget the Mexican food. Tulum is a great place to find healthy or vegan alternatives to some of your favorite Mexican dishes.

My favorite is Charlieโ€™s Tacos! With a margarita in hand and warm tropical weather year-round.ย Tulum is the perfect place for a relaxing beach vacation that is affordable, beautiful, and lots of fun.

Santorini, Greece

Santorini, Greece

Santorini is my favorite Greek island. It is dreamy, romantic, and has a magical feel to it. It is also home to the most beautiful sunsets in the world. The Oia Caldera which hugs the Aegean Sea offers breathtaking views of the ocean. The picturesque white and blue cave houses that Santorini is so famous for.

When visiting Santorini,ย I recommend staying in a cave hotel in Oia for an authentic experience. Many of the rooms come with their own private hot tub or pool. Which is an excellent place to watch the sunset from. The cave hotels also offer lavish breakfasts served right on your balcony each morning, which is an amazing way to start the day.

My favorite thing to do in Santorini is to rent an ATV and drive all around the island taking in the many gorgeous views and stopping along points of interests along the way. There is also a beautiful hiking trail that takes you from one side of the island in Fira all the way to Oia and provides a beautiful scenery to enjoy all throughout the hike.

For such a small island, there is actually plenty to do and see. Visiting both the Red Sand Beach and Black Sand Beach are a must. You can snorkel, dive, sail, or just relax by the soothing waters.

Local wine tasting and olive oil tasting are also a fun activity when visiting, as Santorini is known for their sweet wines and rich olive oils. Santorini is also the most luxurious of all the Greek islands, so with it comes fine Greek dining and shopping.

It is an ideal destination for a honeymoon, however, Santorini can also be enjoyed by friends who want a beautiful, relaxing, and luxurious Greek island experience.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Chiang Mai, Thailand

The northern city of Chiang Mai is one of the most culturally rich cities in all of Thailand. It is a great place to experience the true essence of Thai culture before heading south to the islands.

There is so much to see and experience in Chiang Mai, from their beautiful Buddhist temples to their lively night markets. In fact, Chiang Mai is home to the largest night market in all of Asia!

You can spend hours getting lost installs upon stalls of souvenirs, local crafts, and of course, plenty of street food. If you love Thai food, a very popular activity to do in Chiang Mai is to take a cooking class. You will learn to make so many famous Thai dishes and it very likely will end up being your favorite meal throughout your entire trip!

Another must when visiting Chiang Mai is to spend a day at Elephant Nature Park – one of the few true and ethical elephant sanctuaries in all of Thailand. At ENP you will get to feed, bathe, walk, and spend the day hanging out and interacting with the elephants.

It is truly a unique and amazing experience. Lastly, no trip to Chiang Mai is complete without a Thai Massage. In Chiang Mai, one of the most famous places to get a message is from prisoners at the Womenโ€™s Correctional Facility. It is a great experience and the best massage you will get.

Massages are very affordable in Chiang Mai for western travelers, so you could even get one every day! Though the culture of Thai people is very different from western cultures, Thai people are very happy and kind. Chiang Mai should definitely be a stop on anyoneโ€™s Thailand Itinerary.

Los Angeles, California USA

Los Angeles, California USA

No list of my favorite cities would be complete without mentioning the city I call home: Los Angeles. I was born, raised, and lived in LA my entire life and there is a very good reason I never left: Los Angeles is in my opinion, the best city in the world.

To start, LA has perfect weather year-round. It is almost always sunny and never gets too hot or too cold. The geography of Los Angeles is very spread-out and diverse. Los Angeles may be a dessert but we have beaches, mountains, valleys, and even forests.

What is most remarkable about LAโ€™s geography is the fact that you can visit the beach and then drive 2 hours north into the mountains and go skiing the same day. We are an active city and love to hike, do yoga, surf, and be outdoors. There is truly a never a dull moment in LA.

The city is known for entertainment and nightlife, where star-studded clubs and bars are plentiful. One of my favorite aspects of LA, however, is that it is a true melting pot of ethnicities and with it comes a unique mix of culture.

We have incredible options for food from delicious $1 street tacos, to ultra upscale Michelin-starred restaurants. LA is also home to world-class art with several incredible art museums from classical to contemporary.

We are also known for amazing shopping, from the designer stores of Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills to unique vintage thrift shops on Hollywoodโ€™s Melrose Avenue. Los Angeles truly has it all. There is something here for anyone and everyone and I canโ€™t imagine calling any other city than LA my home.
