Wish I’d had time to climb the heights! We were there many years ago, on a day trip from Como. 🙂

We were there last year and also blog about this 🙂 stayed for 2 weeks between Lugano and Locarno. Both are beautiful and of course, it is Switzerland and yes very expensive. It pays that we have a family there that the cost cut in halves or more as we all share the expenses.

These vistas are breathtaking. This county in the mountains is as near to authentically magical as it gets. Aside from notes of valuable insight and practicality, what incredible adventures you’ve been able to experience! Thanks for opening your photo album!

    • thank you very much, yeah its nearly like in a dream now I’m looking back to this experience I can’t imagine what kind of wonderful creations that I’ve seen 🙂 😉 hope you can go there too

  8. Wow. Another of many great trips! I’d really like to see Switzerland one day. I recently found out that my dad’s mystery white blood is (his grandma was Scot and Swiss). When his dad died they left the midwest for NYC, cut ties with them and my grandma never wanted to talk about it. Thanks to and DNA tests, we have some answers. One day I’d like to visit places that my research has taken me, states and countries they use to live. My Dad’s Chinese side is pretty interesting too, we estimate they came over in the 1870s and we’re still trying to hunt of info.

  9. Really, and I mean really nice views! I think it must be worth going there, although it is not that easy… Great tips though, and magnificent pictures!

  10. It looks so beautiful there! Great tips and Lugano looks pretty family friendly. I can’t wait to get the chance to explore Switzerland. We’ll have to plan a family trip! Before I forget, you take splendid pictures.

How I wish Switzerland matched my genre of budget travelling! Do you think hitchhiking is possible here?

    • Alexine says:

Yes ofcourse but you need to get a permission, You can always budget yourself in your own way like bringing your own food and drinks anyways just refrain from spending and that’s it 🙂

  12. Oh, I wonder what is better. Norway or this? I now have to visit Switzerland to compare

  13. Good tips for saving some money in this post, it is an expensive destination. Nice photos too.

Wow! The panoramic views from the top of Monte Bre are gorgeous! Even during your journey you captured the fantastic landscape. I’ve not been to Switzerland but I hope I get the chance to visit one day. This looks like a great road trip to do! : )
